Commodity Manager
We're seeking a Commodity Manager to lead global sourcing strategies for Performance Chemicals, Plastics, and Packaging within a direct materials portfolio. You will play a key role in supporting our supply chain goals, including cost containment, regionalization, working capital improvement, on-time delivery, and quality assurance.
This role demands a proactive leader capable of communicating clearly with cross-functional and global teams, while driving supplier performance and developing long-term sourcing strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for direct material commodities.
- Drive cost-containment initiatives and manage inflationary impacts.
- Set goals to improve trade working capital: better payment terms, reduced inventory, shorter lead times.
- Create regional capacity plans to strengthen supply assurance.
- Negotiate and establish supplier agreements.
- Lead electronic sourcing events and bids.
- Collaborate with Supplier Quality to improve performance (PPM).
- Lead meetings and deliver impactful presentations across departments using strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ideal candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Procurement or related supply chain role.
- Strong project management and analytical skills.
- Results-oriented mindset with a strategic, process-driven approach.
- Comfortable reviewing and improving procurement processes.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Willingness to travel up to 25 %, including supplier site visits and team meetings.
Preferred qualifications and experience:
- Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or Business.
- Background in sourcing Plastics, Resins, or Packaging Components.
- Experience with large-scale project management.
- Ability to read technical drawings/blueprints is a plus.
This role is based in our Mikulov or Kolín Copeland manufacturing plants.
