Welding Technologist
Are you a skilled welding professional ready to lead high-impact industrial projects? Join us as our Welding Technologist, where you'll take charge of a major production relocation and help shape the future of welding operations in our Mikulov facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary welding representative for MIG, MAG, and resistance welding processes.
- Lead the relocation and ramp-up of welding operations from Belgium to Mikulov, CZ.
- Develop and optimize Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) in line with European standards.
- Oversee welder training, qualification, and certification – including conducting internal training and audits.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality departments.
- Ensure compliance with PED Category III requirements and robust process readiness.
- Partner with design and quality teams to ensure weldability, repeatability, and robustness in both manual and automated environments.
- Support implementation of robotic welding systems (Fanuc, Cloos) and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate destructive and non-destructive testing methods (X-ray, ultrasonic, macrography).
- Contribute to the specification and commissioning of new welding equipment.
Ideal candidate:
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical/Welding Engineering or equivalent – IWT/IWE certification required.
- 3–5+ years of experience in a similar role, ideally in industrial manufacturing or automotive.
- Proven hands-on experience with MIG, MAG, and resistance welding.
- Strong expertise in welder training and certification processes, including coordination with notified bodies.
- Medium English skills.
- Advantages: Understanding of brazing techniques (especially for pipe/tube joints); knowledge of copper/brass tube brazing.
