They are used in commercial refrigeration, in the food and processing industries, and – through heat pump modules – in the heating of residential buildings.

The recent expansion of the plant strengthens Copeland’s ability to leverage local know-how and talent for a broader product portfolio. At the same time, it marks an important step toward meeting the growing global demand for sustainable and energy-efficient cooling solutions. Mikulov now has the foundations to become the first manufacturing site in Eastern Europe to produce scroll compressors.
Another major milestone is the new production line for electric motors. These motors were previously manufactured at Copeland’s plant in Suzhou, China, but are now produced directly in Mikulov. This shift has reduced supply-chain risks, lowered costs, and increased flexibility in meeting the demand of European customers.
This change has significantly improved efficiency. The modernization of the production line and localization of motor manufacturing have optimized inventory management and reduced the impact of tariffs and currency fluctuations.
